Care

Feed, bath, put to bed

Big pictures instead of text: your child taps food, brush or basket – just like the real thing, minus the hair on the sofa.

  • Feeding, stroking, bathing, sleeping – with a finger
  • Throwing the ball, playing hide-and-seek, practising tricks
  • The pet never gets ill and is never sad – at most it would like something

Movement

Out and about together – but never too much

The pet is happy about every walk. The phone counts the steps, NixTier shows them as a ring around the pet.

  • Steps are only counted while NixTier is open – no GPS, no location
  • Daily goal 4,000 steps, adjustable from 1,000 to 10,000 in the parent area
  • Above the goal the pet is happily tired – it doesn’t get any happier
  • Without a step counter there is the hopping game: the pet hops first, your child hops along

Companions

Dog, cat, pony, bunny, dragon

Dog and cat are free. Bunny, pony and dragon can be unlocked for good by parents with the Animal friends pack – each with its own care and its own sounds.

  • Pony: hay, apple or carrot, grooming, braiding the mane
  • Dragon: berries or chilli – gives a little flame
  • Your child decides which pet it will be
Bedtime: the dog sleeps in its basket under the night sky

Rest

Bedtime stays bedtime

At bedtime NixTier only shows the sleeping pet, sounds are off. When play time is up, it rests – tomorrow it carries on.

  • You set bedtime and play time in the parent area
  • No notifications, no daily streaks, no “your pet misses you”
  • Bonus time is off at first for children under 6

For parents

You make the rules. The app sticks to them.

Everything important is in the parent area – behind a gate children can’t just click away: hold for two seconds, then solve a maths question for adults.

  • Bedtime

From–to in quarter hours. Then the pet sleeps too, and sounds get quieter beforehand.

  • Play time per day

15 to 90 minutes or no limit. You decide whether learning counts – otherwise learning carries on afterwards.

  • Bonus time they earn

Learning points and steps turn into minutes – you set how many (by default at most 60 a day, adjustable 15–180). You release the minutes yourself, e.g. in Google Family Link; the log shows the last 7 days. NixTier doesn’t block any other apps.

  • Weekly overview

Points per subject and steps per day, calculated on the device. If you like, compare anonymously with children of the same age – only with your yes.

  • Learning made to measure

Subjects on and off, font size 80–160 %, read aloud, difficulty one level easier or harder. Time pressure and combos can be switched off.

  • Movement

Daily step goal from 1,000 to 10,000. Counted only while the app is open, without location.

  • Friends and camera

Friends leaderboard (from 9) and camera (from 8) only with your permission. Your child accepts friend requests; you see the friends list and can remove friends. Switching it off deletes all of it.

  • Purchases only by you

Extras, codes, subscription status and cancelling – all in the parent area. Your child sees no prices and no buy buttons.

No account, no date of birth – just the age in years. No ads, no tracking.
